4 Characteristics Of A Highly Spiritual Person
Are You One?

Faith is the foundation of life.
One can have faith in God, the universe, or just themselves. One can have faith in all or even none of them. It’s a choice and the most significant one that will define your life and the direction it will take.
I was recently asked if I am religious or spiritual. This made me wonder if they can be classified as two separate categories.
A religious person can be spiritual too. Anyone can be spiritual. We all choose a different faith, different frameworks through which to view life, and different schools of thought.
I have found that the basis of all of them is the same.
It’s surrender.
We must surrender to something bigger than us, we must surrender to the process, we must surrender to life.
This is not to say that one must not perform one’s duties. Surrender isn’t the same as giving up. However, to be attached to an outcome is in vain.
Sometimes, people who call themselves highly spiritual or close to God are, in fact, anything but. Sometimes, we are trying our best but are not there yet. And more often than not, we do not understand the true meaning of spirituality.
So what classifies a person as highly spiritual?

The ego is one’s sense of personal identity or self-worth.
It is responsible for destructive behaviors and explosive emotional outbursts, which take us away from any potential union of the inner consciousness with the universe. It’s a self-created blockage in our spiritual paths.
We may not be born with it but as we go through life, it becomes a part of us — a link between the conscious and the unconscious.
